Meet Your Hosts

We invite you to experience Cedar Point
Resort in the beautiful Minnesota Northwoods.
Let us introduce ourselves. We are Tim
and Karen Senger. We're in our 11th
year owning and operating Cedar Point -
however, the resort has been in the family
for 30 years! We were thrilled to
move here 11 years ago from
Burnsville, a southern suburb of
Minneapolis, where Tim worked as an
electrician for 20 years and Karen worked
for a health insurance company for 14 years.
We have been married for 18 years and
have two daughters, Holly and Courtney. The
resort has been part of their lives since
they were born. They love the activities at
the resort and enjoy meeting new people.
There is always something new at Cedar
Point! Holly and Courtney have taken on more
responsibilities and have proven to be a
great asset to the resort (and to our
family!). They are very helpful! Holly is
a Senior in High School this year. So, there
will be many changes in her life soon. For
many, you have had the opportunity to watch
both Holly and Courtney grow up over the
years.
During the summer we do typical "resort
things," but we stay very busy in the winter
as well with our many resort remodeling and
building projects – which is something Tim
is especially good at. We always run out of
time before we run out of ideas! We have
done everything from remodeling cabins and
building sun decks to raising the roof on
the lodge and lifting cabins. It helps to
get all the positive comments from our many
repeat customers and friends. We relax too
and enjoy snowmobiling and being involved
with local as well as tourism related
organizations.
You will always find one or all of us in the
Lodge. Karen does most of the cooking, but
Tim can certainly handle it too! But, if
there are gas tanks to fill or fish
filleting lessons to give – that’s
definitely Tim’s job!
We have fond memories of vacations at the
lake and we strive to make your vacation at
Cedar Point a vacation to remember!
