The Lake
| For
many, North Star Lake is a
favorite. It is a 1,052 acre lake and
reaches depths of up to 97 feet.
North Star is spring-fed which
makes it clean and clear. You can see
down 16 feet! Our lake has many bays
and points so you can boat even on the
windy days. The underwater structure
is great for the fish! |
 |
| Most
of North Star Lake’s 15 miles of
shoreline is undeveloped and part
of the Chippewa National Forest -- you
won’t see house after house
here. You will really feel like you’re
alone with nature. The wildlife
on the lake is unbelievable: loons,
eagles, deer, moose, song birds,
beaver, chipmunks… |

You will see
many nesting
pairs of loons. Because
there are so many bays, they call to each
other from all around you. Did you know that
our county, Itasca County, has the highest
population of eagles? Keep your eye on the
sky for the soaring Eagles. We have
seen moose cross the lake and if you are
quiet enough, you might see a deer taking a
drink along the shore.
North
Star is a pristine lake. We’re
confident you’ll enjoy what it has to
offer. Cedar Point has a free boat launch on
site. With your cabin rental you will have
dock space for your own boat, or a resort
boat will be available to you for free.
Pontoons are also available. So, experience
the lake from the boat, watch the lake from
your cabin or dock, or go out by kayak, paddleboat
or canoe (free for our guest’s use). It is
a sight to see!
When
you check-in, ask us for a Lake Map that has
helpful hints on where to start fishing or
talk to Tim or Karen and we can tell you
where the fish are biting.
