Family Run Resort In Marcell, Minnesota
17th year. Yes, 2018 is our 17th season at Cedar Point Resort. It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were just moving up to Cedar Point and starting our first year. Time really goes by quickly when you are having fun!
Family Run For Over 35 years
We invite you to experience Cedar Point Resort in the beautiful Minnesota Northwoods. Let us introduce ourselves. We are Tim and Karen Senger. As we stated above, we are in our 17th year owning and running Cedar Point Resort. However, the resort has been in the family for 36 years.
We purchased Cedar Point Resort from Karen’s parents, Pete and Maria May, who owned it for 19 years. It have been interesting seeing how the resort has changed over time and throughout generations.
We have experienced many personal changes in the last couple of years. We are empty nesters! We aren’t sure if we love it yet. But, we are adjusting. Holly and Courtney grew up on the resort. The resort was a wonderful environment for them to grow up in. We do miss having Holly and Courtney here full time, but trust that they will be successful in whatever path their lives take them. We do still have our 2 dogs, Buddy and Boomer, to keep us company.
Statewide Resorting Community
We keep active all year. We are on the Board of Directors for the Community of Minnesota Resorts (a Minnesota Resort Association) and Karen served as the President for 2 years. We enjoy working with other resorters throughout the state. Karen is also on the Board of Directors of the Edge of the Wilderness Lodging Association. The EOWLA is our area lodging association that promotes tourism and resorts in our immediate area. By staying involved, we learn from other resorts and we truly believe that being involved makes us better resorters and therefore we have a better resort to offer you, our guests.
Before purchasing Cedar Point, we have fond memories of vacationing at the lake. And now we have fond memories of running Cedar Point Resort. We strive to make your stay at Cedar Point a vacation to remember!
