Some people say that fall fishing is the best on North Star Lake. Then I wonder why more people don’t do it. Life gets so busy. Cedar Point Resort is so busy until Labor Day. Families are busy. People are getting one last vacation in before the school year starts. Then the day after Labor Day is quiet. Even if we have every cabin full…. it is quiet. There is usually just a couple in a cabin or a group of guys fishing. Or sometime we have a group of women.
I do love summer. But, I think that the fall is my favorite time of year. The lake is beautiful and the leaves are changing color. My mother, Tim and I just went for a pontoon ride. We saw a couple boats with fishermen on the lake. I hope they are having luck. We weren’t fishing. Maybe later this week! Fall is a great time to go fishing or just relax by the lake. The pool may be closed but the lake is still open!! On our pontoon ride there were still some loons on the lake. It looks like some of them have already left. But some are still here. We are still hearing them as well.
We have people that come up every fall to enjoy the fall fishing. The bass are biting. Small mouth is catch and release only now in Minnesota. But, Large Mouth Bass season is still open. So is Northern, Muskie and Walleye and pan fish too. Our resort cabins are open through the first weekend in October and our adjacent lake home are open into November. It isn’t too late to enjoy the great north woods.
