North Start Lake, Marcel, MN
Most of North Star Lake’s 15 miles of shoreline is undeveloped and part of the Chippewa National Forest — you won’t see cabin after cabin here. You will really feel like you’re one with nature. The wildlife on the lake is unbelievable: loons, eagles, deer, songbirds, beaver…
You will see multiple nesting pairs of loons. Because there are so many bays, they call to each other from all around you. Did you know that our county, Itasca County, has the highest population of eagles? Keep your eye on the sky for the soaring Eagles. If you are quiet enough, you might see a deer taking a drink along the shore.
North Star Lake has plenty of room to both fish and enjoy other water activities.
We have a free boat launch on site. Included with your rental is one dock space. We also have rentals available which include pontoons, deluxe fishing boats and 16-foot Lunds with 15HP motor. So, experience the lake from the boat, watch the lake from your cabin or dock, or go out by kayak, hydro bikes, Stand-Up Paddleboards, or canoes (free for our guest’s use). It is a sight to see!
When you check-in, ask us for a map of the lake. There are helpful hints on it where to start fishing or talk to us and we can tell you where the fish are biting.
