Sand Lake - Spring Lake, MN
Sand Lake is a 4,300 acre lake with depths up to 70 feet and part of the Chippewa National Forest — it's one of Minnesota's top multi-species fisheries. If the fishing isn't enough to bring you here, the beautiful nature and wildlife will keep you coming back for more.
You will see multiple nesting pairs of loons. Because there are so many bays, they call to each other from all around you. Did you know that our county, Itasca County, has the highest population of eagles? Keep your eye on the sky for the soaring Eagles. If you are quiet enough, you might see a deer taking a drink along the shore.
When you check-in, ask us for a map of the lake. There are helpful hints on it where to start fishing or talk to us and we can tell you where the fish are biting.
